And the list of overrated movies lengthens...

So, since most of the people who are reading my blog probably also read Aaron's, I'll go ahead and also comment on the movie we saw this weekend. I was really looking forward to seeing Brokeback Mountain since it had gotten such excellent reviews from critics and a couple friends too. Unfortunately, though, I pretty much agree w/ everything aaron wrote. I wasn't quite as uncomfortable as he was during some of the "intimate" scenes, and I'm not homophobic in the slightest...I just didn't enjoy the movie. I can see how some people could see that it's moving bc of the storyline of how difficult it was to be gay in the 60's and 70's. And some of the scenery was pretty. But overall, I thought it was kind of slow, not to mention depressing when Heath Ledger's character becomes an alcoholic and is in a life slump for the majority of the film. His accent was also sort of weird. I think Jack's character was played much better. Basically, I don't understand all the hype. I'm glad society is becoming more accepting of homosexuals; but they could've told the story much better, or at least more interestingly.
