Babies, babies, and more babies
This week has been one of the most exhausting in recent memory I think. Whoever thinks that working with babies is all fun and games is crazy. We all know that I've been working with kids for about 6 months now. However, this week I'm filling in for a lead teacher in one of the infant rooms and I'm about to go insane. This new baby Matthew, who shall be refered to as the Satan's Spawn, feels the need to scream every waking minute if he is not being held. And when I say scream, I really mean shriek. He seriously sounds as though he is in mortal danger or someone is continually pinching him. Add into the scenario that I had a pounding headache before he even got dropped off and you can imagine how long my day was. At one point I was holding two infants (one being Satan's Spawn, and the other one who was also being a brat) just to get them to stop screaming. Basically today was one of the longest days of my life and I'm very thankful that it's over. Unfortunately I have to go back there tomorrow. Maybe I'll slip some Baileys in my coffee to make the day more bearable...
