It's finally Saturday- yeah!!! I'm really ready for the weekend (like always) and it's already off to a good start. Aaron and Ben and Beth and I went downtown to Rodizio Grill last night for my official birthday dinner since Ben was out of town this last week on my actual birthday. Let me just tell you, this place was AMAZING!!! It's a Brzilian steakhouse, which means that there's a flat price for everyone's dinner and it's an all-you-can-eat type thing. There's a buffet of salad bar and side items and then the waiters just walk around w/ skewers of meat and grilled veggies and grilled pineapple (which might have been one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten). They had so many different kinds of food- Beth tried chicken hearts and Ben braved quail eggs from the salad bar. And the meat was some of the best I've ever had. Needless to say, we ate until we were so stuffed we couldn't take another bite, and then we proceeded to order dessert:). But would you really expect any different from Beth and I. The boys of course acted as though they couldn't believe we wanted dessert and then ate the remainder of it after we quit (this is a usual occurrence). After paying the enormous bill, we met up w/ a couple of Aaron's friends from work at a place called Wynkoop. It's a bar downtown that makes their own beer and it was really good. Good times were had by all last night, some of the highlights being: me taking a picture next to a giant statue of a gorilla at Wynkoop's (it was really hilarious and we made fun of Aaron a lot), riding the light rail downtown and seeing some hippies get tickets from the train person for not having tickets to ride, having beth stare at my chest all night (she bought me a new shirt for my birthday and kept telling me how nice I looked in it:), and falling asleep on the train ride home on aaron's shoulder- I was sleepy!! So it was definitely a good night- I would recommend Rodizio's and Wynkoop to anyone wanting to head downtown for a good time!
Oh, and on a side note, I've had several people ask me how my birthday was so I'll tell a little about it. I came home to find Aaron at the door w/ a party hat that read "It's my first birthday!" and then in marker behind it: "In Colorado!". So that was pretty funny. Then I got to open my present, which I had no idea what it was. I didn't really give him a list of anything that I wanted- which can be dangerous- but he never asked what I wanted. So I really didn't know know what to expect at all. But I was very excited to find that he got me a really awesome down sleeping bag that probably cost way too much. It's so light and so comfortable- yes, I already tried it out on the floor and couch:). And I am so excited to take it camping now! Oh, and he also got me an ice cream cake from Coldstone. It is sooo good and so bad for you. But I figured, what the hell, it's my birthday. So then we just went out to dinner at Chili's. Nothing fancy since Friday was the real going out birthday dinner. And that was my day. I got lots of phone calls from all my friends and family, some of which I still haven't called back- sorry! And Aaron did an awesome job of making it a special day for me. It was just sort of sad, though, that it was the first birthday that I didn't spend w/ everyone from back home. I only got sad for a little while- Aaron did a good job of cheering me up:). And that's pretty much everything on that front. I'm gonna go lay out by the pool for a while now before we head to a barbecue this afternoon. Hope everyone has great weekends!!!
