Winter Wonderland... sort of

Well, I'm sure everyone has seen the news and become aware of the blizzard we are currently experiencing here in Denver. For the first time since I've worked at the center, they actually closed early- at noon- today. They had to call all the parents and have them come pick up the kids due to the horrible driving conditions. AND I've already been called and told that we won't be opening tomorrow. Not surprising considering that Gov. Bill Owens declared the storm a state-wide disaster emergency and has called in the National Guard to aid local officials in their assistance to people stuck on roads around the city. Luckily, Aaron and I are both home safe and sound (during my hour-long drive home I began to wonder if I would make it home safely) and have a day of r&r to look forward to tomorrow. We're just praying that they reopen I-70 in time for us to make it home for Christmas. If not, there's going to be a couple pretty unhappy campers here in the Anderson household! Oh, and this picture is of our front porch. You could say we have a bit of a drift going on there. We have gotten nearly a foot already, though, and it's still coming down VERY quickly.
